What material are the steps made from?
They are built from .120" boxed steel with machined caps that lock onto the frame for a stable platform.
Are these just steps or do they protect the machine too?
They serve double duty. They provide a stable step for entering and exiting and reaching roof-mounted accessories, and they also work as rock sliders / nerf bars for demanding terrain.
What are the skids on the outer edge, and can they be replaced?
The outer edge uses replaceable UHMW skids, so the wear surface can be swapped out over time.
Why would I want steps that also act as rock sliders?
The combined design gives you an easy way to climb in and out while also shielding the lower body from rocks and obstacles on the trail.
