Harness OverRide Clip for Can-Am and Polaris Models
All Can-Am and newer Polaris models now include a safety belt switch. This means that that the factory computer system knows when you're not wearing your seat belt. If a belt isn't buckled, it will interrupt the ignition and limit it to 5mph. This works great for stock seat belts, but it's not so great for aftermarket 4- or 5-point harnesses that don't use the stock belt clip. DradonFire has designed this Harness OverRide Clip to close the open loop system and allow for you to use the full potential of your motor. No wiring skills required for this install. All you have to do is unplug the old and plug in the new! When installing harnesses in your Can-Am or new model Polaris you will find that the factory computer system knows when you're not wearing your seat belt and will interrupt the ignition. Great idea for stock seat belts, not so good for after-market 4-point harnesses like ours. Questions & Answers
What does this harness override connector do?
It bypasses the factory safety belt switch so you can run an aftermarket 4- or 5-point harness without the computer limiting your speed.
Which machines is it for?
It is made for Polaris RZR, Ranger, and General models, and it also works for Can-Am models that use the seat belt switch.
Why do I need this with an aftermarket harness?
Newer Polaris and Can-Am models know when a belt isn't buckled and will interrupt the ignition and limit you to 5mph; aftermarket harnesses don't use the stock belt clip, so this clip keeps that from happening.
Does it work with the factory seat belts too?
The factory system already works fine with stock seat belts; this override clip is specifically for aftermarket 4- or 5-point harnesses that don't use the stock belt clip.
